Okay, so today I wanna talk about something I’ve been messing around with: Diego Pavia wrestling. Yeah, I know, sounds kinda random, but hear me out.

First off, I started by watching a bunch of his matches online. I mean, YouTube is a goldmine, right? I really paid attention to his stance, his takedown techniques, and how he transitions between moves. You gotta start somewhere, and observation is key.
Next, I hit the gym. Couldn’t just sit on the couch and expect to learn something. I focused on building up my core strength and explosiveness. Lots of squats, deadlifts, and medicine ball throws. Wrestling is way more demanding than it looks.
Then, I looked around for a local wrestling club. Found one not too far away, and decided to just show up. It was intimidating at first, being a complete newbie surrounded by guys who clearly knew what they were doing. But everyone was pretty cool and welcoming.
The coach there showed me some basic wrestling drills, things like sprawling, shrimping, and bridging. Sounds kinda weird, I know, but they’re essential for defense and getting back to your feet. I practiced these over and over until I could do them without thinking.
After that, we started working on takedowns. I tried to emulate some of the stuff I saw Diego Pavia doing, but let me tell you, it’s a lot harder in real life than it looks on video. Getting the timing right and actually taking someone down takes practice. A lot of practice.
We also did some live wrestling, which is basically sparring. I got my butt kicked. Like, really got my butt kicked. But that’s part of the learning process, right? You gotta get thrown around a few times to figure out what works and what doesn’t.
One thing I learned is that wrestling is all about leverage and positioning. It’s not just about being strong, it’s about using your weight and body mechanics to your advantage. I’m still working on that part.
I started watching his matches and implementing his movements with shadow wrestling in my apartment!
I’m nowhere near being a Diego Pavia-level wrestler, but I’ve definitely learned a ton. It’s been challenging, frustrating, and occasionally painful, but also incredibly rewarding. I mean, I can now do some takedowns!
- Watch matches and analyze techniques.
- Focus on core strength and explosiveness.
- Join a local wrestling club.
- Practice basic drills and takedowns.
- Embrace the learning process (and getting your butt kicked).
And that’s pretty much my Diego Pavia wrestling journey so far. Still got a long way to go, but I’m enjoying the ride. Who knows, maybe one day I’ll be able to pull off some of his signature moves. Probably not, but it’s fun to dream!
