Alright, so today I’m gonna walk you through how I tackled this “solve the graffiti puzzle” thing. It was a head-scratcher for a bit, but I got there eventually, and figured I’d share how it all went down.

It all started when I saw the puzzle. Just a bunch of scribbles and random characters, right? My first thought was, “Okay, this has gotta be some kind of substitution cipher or something.” So, I started by grabbing a pen and paper (old school, I know) and just began writing down all the symbols and trying to see if any patterns jumped out.
Nothing. Zilch. Nada.
Then I thought, maybe it’s not a simple substitution. Maybe it’s more complex. So, I tried to frequency analysis. You know, see which symbols appeared most often, and guess those were the common letters like “E” or “T.” Still, the whole thing felt off.
I was getting a bit frustrated, I ain’t gonna lie. I took a break. Went and grabbed a coffee, walked around a bit. Sometimes, you just gotta step away to clear your head.
When I came back, I decided to try a different approach. Instead of focusing on individual symbols, I looked at the graffiti as a whole. Like, the arrangement of the symbols, were there any distinct sections, anything that looked like a word break?

And then it hit me. There was this one section that looked kinda like a grid. So I thought, “What if this is some kind of grid cipher?” Like, each symbol represents a coordinate in a grid.
I drew out a grid and started assigning numbers to the rows and columns. Then, I went back to the graffiti and started trying to decode the symbols based on their supposed grid coordinates.
It was messy. Real messy. I had to make a lot of adjustments to the grid, moving things around, re-assigning numbers. But slowly, I started to see actual letters forming.
The first word I deciphered was “OPEN.” That was a huge breakthrough. It confirmed that I was on the right track. From there, it was just a matter of grinding it out. Decoding each symbol one by one, using the “OPEN” as a reference.
It took a while, and there were definitely moments where I thought I was going crazy, but eventually, I cracked the whole thing. The message was something about finding a hidden key under a specific brick in a wall. (I’m keeping the exact message secret, just in case!).

So, yeah, that’s how I solved the graffiti puzzle. It was a mix of pattern recognition, trial and error, and a whole lot of patience. The key takeaways for me were:
- Don’t be afraid to try different approaches. If one thing isn’t working, switch it up.
- Take breaks. Sometimes, a fresh perspective is all you need.
- Look at the big picture. Don’t get too bogged down in the details.
- Stick with it. Even when it seems impossible, keep trying.
Hope this helps if you ever encounter a similar puzzle. Good luck and happy decoding!
