Okay, so today I’m gonna walk you through how I tackled this little side project: DJ Horne Draft Projection. It was a fun one, and I learned a lot along the way, so let’s dive right in.

First off, I started by just gathering as much info as I could on DJ Horne. I mean, like, EVERYTHING. Player stats, obviously, from different seasons and teams. Scouting reports from ESPN, The Athletic, you name it. Any articles analyzing his strengths and weaknesses. I literally googled his name every which way I could think of. This step was crucial ’cause you gotta know the player inside and out before you can even start thinking about where he might land in the draft.
Next up, I dug into previous NBA drafts. I wanted to see, like, what kind of players with similar stats and skillsets got drafted, and where. I looked at things like their points per game, rebounds, assists, defensive ratings – all that jazz. I built myself a little spreadsheet (okay, it was a HUGE spreadsheet) with tons of players and their draft positions. This gave me a baseline to compare DJ Horne to.
Alright, now came the messy part: actually analyzing the data. I started comparing DJ Horne’s stats and scouting reports to the players I had in my spreadsheet. I looked for guys who were similar in terms of scoring ability, athleticism, shooting range, and defensive potential. It wasn’t a perfect science, obviously, but it gave me a sense of what range he might fall into. I also factored in things like his age, position, and any injury history, since those can definitely affect a player’s draft stock.
Then I moved onto team needs. This part took a while. I went through each NBA team’s roster and identified their biggest needs going into the draft. Like, are they desperate for a point guard? Do they need more shooting? Are they looking for a defensive stopper? I checked out mock drafts from different sources (ESPN, Bleacher Report, etc.) to see what other people were predicting. This gave me a broader perspective and helped me identify potential landing spots for DJ Horne based on team fit.
After all that research, I started putting together my own projection. I considered all the factors I mentioned earlier – player stats, scouting reports, team needs, draft history – and tried to come up with a realistic range for where DJ Horne might get drafted. I ended up projecting him as a late second-round pick or an undrafted free agent with potential to make a team through summer league. This was based on his strengths as a scorer and shooter, but also considering his age and defensive limitations.

Finally, I wrote up a little summary explaining my projection. I highlighted his strengths and weaknesses, discussed potential team fits, and explained why I thought he would fall into the range I predicted. I also included links to the articles and stats I used in my research, just to show my work. It was a fun project, and hopefully, DJ Horne proves me wrong and gets drafted even higher!
