Alright, let me tell you about hitting up that WWE show in Sioux Falls earlier this year, 2024.

Heard it was coming around, think I saw it pop up somewhere online. Been a while since I’d been to a live show, figured why not. Sioux Falls isn’t exactly next door, but it’s doable for a weekend thing. First thing was snagging tickets. Went online, found a couple that weren’t crazy expensive, decent view, you know? Didn’t want to be in the nosebleeds squinting the whole time, but didn’t need ringside either. Just wanted to soak it in. Got that sorted pretty quick.
Then came the actual trip. Decided to just drive it. Filled up the tank, grabbed some snacks for the road. The drive itself was pretty standard, just highway miles. Listened to some podcasts, music. Rolled into Sioux Falls, found the hotel I booked. Nothing fancy, just a place to crash after the show. Checked in, dropped my bag.
Getting to the Arena
Later that day, headed over to the arena. You could feel the buzz building up even driving close. Finding parking wasn’t too bad, actually. Expected it to be a nightmare, but found a spot in one of the lots without circling forever. Paid the fee, walked over with the crowd. Lots of people decked out in wrestling shirts, championship belts slung over their shoulders. Always kind of fun seeing that energy.
Getting inside was the usual deal. Security check, scanned the ticket, then navigating the concourse. Grabbed a quick bite, maybe a soda. Found my section, then my seat. View was pretty much what I expected from the online chart, so that was good. Settled in as the place filled up.
The Show Itself
Man, when those lights go down and the music hits, it’s different live. Way louder than on TV. The crowd was really into it right from the start. Saw a bunch of the big names. Cody Rhodes was there, the crowd went nuts for him, lots of “WOAH!” chants. Rhea Ripley got a huge reaction too. Seeing Seth Rollins doing his thing live, with the whole crowd singing his theme, that was pretty cool.

- The entrances are half the fun, honestly. Big pyro, flashy lights.
- Action in the ring felt faster, more intense up close.
- You really hear the slams on the mat.
- The crowd reactions, booing the bad guys, cheering the good ones, it adds a lot.
Didn’t really keep track of who won every match, wasn’t there for that. Was more about just being there, seeing the spectacle. It’s just pure entertainment, you know? Loud, dumb fun. Caught some good spots, couple of surprises. Time flew by pretty fast.
Heading Home
Show wrapped up, main event finished. Then it’s the slow shuffle out with everyone else. Took a while to get out of the parking lot, same as any big event. Drove back to the hotel, pretty tired but buzzing from the show. Crashed pretty hard.
Next morning, checked out, grabbed some breakfast on the way out of town, and just drove home. Reflecting on it? Yeah, it was worth the drive. Good seeing a live event like that now and then. Breaks things up. Just a solid night of wrestling action. Simple as that.
