Okay, here’s my blog post about figuring out Matt Painter’s height. It was a bit of a journey, let me tell you!
Alright folks, today I’m diving into something that might seem a little random, but hey, I was curious! I wanted to know: how tall is Matt Painter, the Purdue basketball coach? It all started when I was watching a game and thought, “Man, that guy’s got some presence.” So, I embarked on a quest, a real digital scavenger hunt, to uncover the truth.
First things first, I hit up Google. I mean, that’s the obvious starting point, right? I typed in “matt painter height” and got a bunch of different answers. Some sites said 6’4″, others claimed 6’5″, and one even dared to suggest 6’3″! Talk about confusing. It was clear I needed a more reliable source than just random websites.
Next, I thought about the Purdue Athletics website. Surely, they’d have accurate information on their head coach. I navigated over there, dug around in his bio, and… nothing. Nada. Zip. They mentioned his accomplishments, his coaching record, all the usual stuff, but no height. Seriously? It was like they were deliberately trying to keep this information a secret.
Frustrated, I moved on to the next logical step: sports news sites. ESPN, CBS Sports, Bleacher Report – I checked them all. I was hoping to find an article or interview where his height might be mentioned. After some serious digging, I found a few articles that referenced his playing days. A lot of these just repeat those same unconfirmed height. Ugh.
I remembered that sometimes coaches are interviewed on local news or sports radio shows. I started searching YouTube for interviews with Matt Painter. I watched a bunch, hoping for some visual clues or a stray comment about his height. No luck so far.
Finally, I stumbled upon an older forum post where people were actually discussing Matt Painter’s height. Some people claimed to have met him in person and were offering their estimations. Now, I know what you’re thinking: forum posts aren’t exactly the most reliable source of information. But hey, at this point, I was desperate.

I made some rough estimations. I compared the height of their heads to his head. I looked at the pictures at different angles. It was not easy to get an accurate read on his height this way, but I found that he was probably in the 6’4″ – 6’5″ range.
After all that digging, I’m still not 100% sure. But based on my research, I’m going to go with 6’4″ or 6’5″. It seems like the most likely range. Maybe someday I’ll run into him in person and can finally settle this once and for all!
