So, I finally got around to checking out the scene at the Seminole Golf Tournament this year. Been hearing about it for ages, you know, one of those legendary spots.

Getting Started
First off, actually deciding to go was the easy part. The tricky bit was figuring out the logistics. It’s not exactly the kind of place you just wander into. Had to sort out access, which felt like a bit of a mission, not gonna lie. Woke up super early that day, wanted to beat the rush, or at least what I thought would be a rush.
The drive over wasn’t too bad, actually. Put on some tunes, enjoyed the morning air. Parking was surprisingly organized, I’ll give them that. Found a spot without driving around in circles for an hour, which is always a good start to the day.
The Experience On Course
Walking onto the grounds was something else. You hear about places like Seminole, but seeing it is different. The course looked immaculate, almost unreal. Seriously perfect grass. The vibe was pretty relaxed, more old-school than some of the big tour events. Less chaotic, which I appreciated.
I spent a good chunk of the morning just wandering around. Followed a couple of groups for a few holes. It’s wild seeing these players up close. The sound the ball makes off the clubface? Totally different than on TV. You really get a sense of the power and precision.
- Walked the front nine first.
- Grabbed a quick bite near the turn – pretty standard stuff, but hit the spot.
- Spent the afternoon mostly parked near a couple of the tougher holes.
The weather held up nicely, a bit breezy maybe, but mostly sunny. Crowds weren’t overwhelming, which was a huge plus. You could actually get a decent view without needing a periscope. Saw some incredible shots, and yeah, saw a few duffs too. Makes you feel a bit better about your own game, you know?

Wrapping Up
Stayed pretty much till the final groups came through. By then, my feet were definitely letting me know they’d had enough. Made the trek back to the car, feeling that good kind of tired. It’s funny, you spend all day watching golf, and it doesn’t sound tiring, but walking those rolling fairways definitely gets you.
Overall, it was a great day out. Totally different feel to it. More about the golf, the history of the place. Glad I finally made it happen. Just a solid day watching some top-level golf at a classic venue. Simple as that, really.
