Okay, so I wanted to figure out what to wear to the US Open Golf. I’m not a golfer, but I’m going with some friends, and I didn’t want to look totally out of place. So, I started by doing what everyone does – I hit up the internet.
My Search and Discovery
I started by searching “US Open Golf attire”. I wanted to get a general sense of the vibe. I saw a lot of pictures and articles, and here’s what I quickly gathered:
- Comfort is key. It’s gonna be a long day, mostly outdoors.
- Think “smart casual.” Not too formal, but not too sloppy either.
- Weather appropriate. Check the forecast and be prepared.
Digging Deeper
Then I wanted to be a bit more specific, I refined my searches, typing stuff like “women’s outfits US Open Golf” and “men’s style US Open Golf”. This is what I put togather:
- Lots of people said polo shirts are a safe bet.
- Khaki shorts or pants seemed pretty standard.
- For women, sundresses or skirts looked like good options, too.
- Everyone emphasized comfortable shoes, like sneakers or walking sandals. No heels!
- Hats and sunglasses are must-haves for sun protection.
- Layering is important, in case it gets chilly or starts to rain.
Putting It All Together
Based on all of this, I decided to plan a couple of outfit options. I’m a woman, so here’s what I came up with:
Option 1: The Classic Look
- A light-colored polo shirt.
- Khaki shorts.
- Comfortable sneakers.
- A baseball cap.
- Sunglasses.
Option 2: A Bit More Dressy

- A simple sundress (not too short or revealing!).
- A light cardigan or sweater.
- Comfortable walking sandals.
- A wide-brimmed hat.
- Sunglasses.
I also made a mental note to pack a light rain jacket, just in case. And I’ll definitely be wearing sunscreen!
Final Thoughts
After doing all this planning, I feel way more prepared. I think either of my outfit options will work great. The main thing is to be comfortable, respectful of the event, and prepared for the weather.
