Okay, so I’ve been diving deep into Wuthering Waves, and let me tell you, the grind for materials is REAL. Specifically, I’ve been trying to level up my Yinlin, and wow, it takes a lot of stuff. So, I thought I’d share my little journey and what I’ve figured out so far, ’cause why not?

The Hunt Begins!
First things first, I needed to figure out exactly what Yinlin needed. I mean, there’s a ton of materials in this game. Turns out, the main things I was hunting for were these:
- Shell Credits – ‘Cause you always need money, right?
- Whisperin Cores – And all its higher-level versions. These drop from those Tacet Discords, and boy, did I fight a lot of them.
- Monument Bell – Got these from a specifc overworld boss.
- Resonance Potion – More basic stuff to collect.
- Unending Note – More boss drop from a weekly challenge.
I started, seriously, with zero. I had used pretty much everything I had on other characters. (No regrets, but still, ouch.) So, I pulled up the in-game guide that shows you where to find stuff, thank goodness for that feature!
The Core Grind
My main focus became those Whisperin Cores. The game tells you which Tacet Discords drop them, so I just started teleporting around, hitting every single one I could find. I’m not gonna lie, it got pretty repetitive. Wake up, fight monsters, teleport, fight more monsters, sleep, repeat. Sound familiar?
Pro-tip(from me to you): I found it helpful to mark the locations on my map. That way, I could just quickly zoom around and get the most bang for my buck (or, uh, time).
After what felt like forever, I finally started getting enough of the basic Whisperin Cores. Then came the fun part – upgrading them! You need a bunch of the lower-level ones to make the higher-level ones, so even when I had a decent amount, I still felt like I was miles away.

Boss Battle Blues…and Wins!
Then came the Monument Bell. I had to face that boss a few times, I’m not going to pretend it was easy. My team wasn’t super optimized at first, so it took a few tries to figure out the best strategy. Lots of dodging, lots of using my best skills. Eventually, I got the hang of it, and those bells started rolling in. Slowly but surely!
For the Unending Note, it’s from a weekly challenge. I had to make sure I get that done to keep a steady income of those materials.
The Long and Winding Road
Honestly, gathering all this stuff took a good chunk of time. I’m not a hardcore player who can play for hours and hours every day, so I just chipped away at it whenever I had some free time. Some days I’d get a lot done, other days, not so much. But I kept at it!
Finally get those to upgrade my Yinlin. And it is great!

And that’s my story! It’s not glamorous, but it’s how I got my Yinlin the materials she needed. Hopefully, my little adventure helps some of you out there in the Wuthering Waves world. Happy grinding!
