Okay, so I’ve been messing around with FanDuel, trying to get an edge, you know? And everyone talks about these “optimizers.” So, I figured, why not give it a shot? I mean, who doesn’t want to win some money, right?

My Little Experiment Begins
First thing I did was some good old-fashioned Googling. Just typed in “FanDuel optimizer” and, boom, tons of options. Some were free, some were paid, some looked like they were designed in the ’90s. It was a bit of a mess, to be honest.
I decided to start with a free one, just to get my feet wet. Didn’t want to spend any cash until I knew what I was doing. Downloaded it – it was pretty simple, nothing fancy, just a basic spreadsheet-looking thing.
Feeding the Beast
Next up, I had to, like, give it some information. This particular optimizer wanted player salaries, projected points, and, like, the position they played. Sounded easy enough. I went to the FanDuel site and started copying and pasting all that data into the optimizer. Let me tell you, that was a pain. Took forever.
I spent a good hour just inputting data. My fingers were starting to cramp up. I even messed up a few times and had to go back and fix it. Seriously, there’s gotta be a better way to do this, right?
Hitting the “Optimize” Button
Finally, I had all the data in. I double-checked it, triple-checked it, and then hit the big “Optimize” button. I was kinda nervous, not gonna lie. It felt like I was about to launch a rocket or something.

The optimizer started chugging away, doing its thing. I have no idea what it was actually doing, some kind of magic algorithm, I guess. After a few seconds (which felt like an eternity), it spit out a lineup. A whole team, supposedly optimized for maximum points.
The Results? Meh.
So, I took that lineup and entered it into a FanDuel contest. A small one, just a dollar entry fee, to test the waters. And… well, I didn’t win. Not even close. In fact, I think I came in, like, the bottom half. Definitely not making any money off that.
My Takeaway So Far
Honestly? I’m not super impressed. Maybe I did something wrong. Maybe the free optimizer I used wasn’t very good. Or maybe it’s just not that simple. It felt like I was just blindly following what the optimizer told me, without really understanding why.
I’m sure to become a pro, need to start looking into some paid options. Or maybe try a different free one. I found a few that offer automatic data imports. I have to look into that option to save some time and finger strains for my next attempt.
I’m not giving up, though. I’m gonna keep experimenting. I’ll figure this FanDuel thing out eventually. At least, that’s the plan!
