Okay, so, Taysom Hill in fantasy football. What a ride it’s been figuring this guy out! Let me tell you, it wasn’t straightforward.

First, I ignored him. Completely. I mean, he’s listed as a QB, but he’s… not really, right? He’s like this Swiss Army Knife player for the Saints. I was all about the “traditional” quarterbacks, the guys slinging it 30+ times a game. I was drafting those guys.
Then, one week, I’m getting KILLED. Injuries, bye weeks, you name it. My lineup was a mess. I was desperate. I start scrolling through the waiver wire, and there he is: Taysom Hill. I remembered some buzz about him potentially getting more snaps.
The Experiment Begins.
I picked him up. It felt weird. I mean, I was starting a guy who might throw for 50 yards, but also might rush for 80 and two touchdowns. It was a total gamble.
- Week 1: He puts up like 15 points. Not amazing, but way better than the zero I was staring down with my other options. He got a rushing TD, which was sweet.
- Week 2: Boom! 25 points. Two rushing TDs and even threw for one. I’m feeling like a genius.
- Week3: Back to earth. 6 points, a big fat dud.
The biggest lession I learned very fast, is that it’s ALL about his usage.I started digging into the Saints’ game plans, reading reports, watching press conferences – anything to get a clue about how they were going to use him each week.
I realized there were patterns. Certain matchups seemed to favor him. When the Saints were facing a team with a weak run defense, or when they were expected to be in a close, high-scoring game, Hill’s chances of a big game went way up.

It’s not perfect, and There’s a good amount of risk involved. I definitely wouldn’t rely on him as my every-week starter, but as a flex option or a bye-week fill-in? Absolutely. He’s the ultimate boom-or-bust player, and that can be incredibly valuable in fantasy football if you play him right.
