Okay, so I was messing around with some football stats today, specifically looking at Dak Prescott and how he’s performed against Seattle in the past. I wanted to see if there’s any kind of trend or anything interesting there.

Digging into the Data
First, I started by, you know, just Googling around. Just trying to find websites that had game logs and stuff. You know, simple, like “Dak Prescott vs Seahawks stats”. It took some clicking around, a few different sites, but eventually I found some that had what I needed – box scores for all the games he’s played against them.
Then things get a little…manual. There isn’t some magic button to make all this information appear in a neat little package. No, this is a copy-and-paste job! I ended up:
- Copying game dates.
- Pasting them into a spreadsheet.
- Copying passing yards.
- Pasting them into a spreadsheet.
I did the same to his touchdowns, interceptions, completion percentage… all that good stuff. It’s tedious, sure, but you gotta do what you gotta do.
Making sense data
Now, I’ve got this spreadsheet filled with numbers. It’s, uh, not pretty at first. A lot of rows and * I started cleaning things up, which is making sure the dates are formatted correctly, that kind of thing. Nothing fancy, just making it readable.
I also looked at what happened, like, did they win or lose? What was the final score? Just getting a feel for how those games went down, beyond just Dak’s individual numbers.

what i got.
After doing all of this I finally have a full picture. I found out how many time Dak Presoctt played Seatle, and see his performace in each game. I did it!
