Okay, so I got really into this whole “Auburn Tigers National Championship” thing. It all started when I was flipping through channels and caught a replay of an old game. I’d never really followed college football closely, you know?

First, I dug around online to find out when Auburn actually won the national championship. Turns out, they’ve got two claimed national championships, one in 1957 and another in 2010. That got me even more curious.
The 1957 Championship
I started with the 1957 season. Man, that was a different time! I spent a good few hours reading old articles and forum posts. These were like digital time capsules.
- Found some grainy black and white photos.
- Learned about Coach “Shug” Jordan. What a name!
- Discovered they went 10-0 that year. Undefeated!
The crazy thing is, they weren’t even in a bowl game that year because of some probation thing. It felt like a whole different world of college football rules back then.
The 2010 Championship
Then I jumped to 2010. This one felt much more recent, obviously. I could actually find full game footage!
I spent an entire afternoon just watching game highlights. Cam Newton was a beast! It was so cool to see how different the game was compared to 1957.

- Watched a ton of YouTube videos – highlights, interviews, the whole deal.
- Read a bunch of articles about the BCS system.
- Saw how they beat Oregon 22-19. Nail-biter!
I even got into some debates on Reddit threads about whether Auburn deserved that championship. People get really passionate about this stuff!
It’s pretty awesome that a school like Auburn, has the highest of highs in college football. You know I spent most of my day, learning about these two championships, and it made me interested in football even more!
