Alright, guys, so I’ve been grinding away at Road to the Show in MLB The Show, and I kept getting stuck on the same team. I wanted to see if I could force a trade, and after some trial and error, here’s what I did, and it finally worked!

Starting Fresh (Again!)
First, I started a new Road to the Show career. I figured a clean slate might help. I went through the whole character creation process, picked my position (shortstop, of course), and got drafted. Didn’t really matter which team, because my goal was to get outta there!
Playing My Heart Out (But Not Too Good)
For the first few weeks, maybe even a couple of months in-game, I played pretty well. I wanted to get my stats up and get noticed, but I was careful not to go completely insane. I wanted to show that I had talent so the general manager could notice me. Here’s what I focused on:
- Hitting for Average: I aimed for a decent batting average, around .280-.300. Nothing crazy, just solid contact.
- Fielding: Made sure to make the routine plays, didn’t try to be a highlight reel every time.
- Base Running: I get on base. Steal bases, if the chance is there. Show some speed, show some baserunning smarts.
The Agent Call
Then I simulated some games. I figured there wasn’t a point to playing everything. I went through maybe a week or two of simulated games. The key thing is to check. your messages regularly, and be patient!
At some point my agent called me, and I was so exciting and nervous. He asked how I was feeling about the team. This is where you make your move! I told him straight up I wasn’t happy and wanted a change of scenery. Basically, I was polite but firm: “I want out.”
More Waiting (Ugh)
After that conversation, I was put on the trade block, but it’s not instant. I had to play maybe another month or even 6 weeks of games. I kept my performance up, but I still wasn’t trying to be MVP or anything. Just good enough to be trade bait.
Checking My Phone Every Day
Just check my messages regularly, and the General Manager called, he says I’m doing very well, showing my potential. He puts me in lineup of starting. I’m on the traded block.
The Trade!
Finally, it happened! I got a notification that I’d been traded! It felt like forever, but it finally worked. I was sent to a new team, and it was a fresh start. Boom!
So, to recap, the keys seem to be:
- Play well, but not too well.
- Tell your agent you want a trade when he calls.
- Be patient and keep playing (or simulating) until the trade happens.
It might take a few tries, but this method worked for me. Good luck, and hopefully, you can get traded to the team you actually want to play for!
