Alright, so I got really into this “Joe Mauer MLB The Show” thing today. I’ve been a huge Twins fan since I was a kid, and Joe Mauer? Come on, the guy’s a legend. So, I fired up my PlayStation and dove into MLB The Show.
First off, I spent like an hour just tweaking Mauer’s player model. I mean, they got his stance pretty good, but I wanted to make sure his batting gloves were the right shade of navy blue. You know, the little details.
- Went through all the batting stances.
- Adjusted his equipment, even down to the wristbands.
- Made sure his facial hair was on point.
Getting into the Game
Then I decided to jump into a game. Picked the Twins, obviously, and slotted Mauer in at catcher, batting third. The first at-bat was awesome. Stepped into the box, and the crowd went wild. It felt almost real, you know?
I ended up crushing a double to left-center. Classic Mauer, right? Using the whole field. Played a few more innings, and he made a couple of sweet throws to second to nab some runners. Felt good to be back in control of number 7.
Wrapping Up
Honestly, I could have played all day. It’s just so cool to relive those memories of Mauer in his prime. The game’s developers really did a good job capturing his playing style and mannerisms. If you’re a Twins fan, or just a baseball fan in general, you gotta check it out. You won’t regret it. I’ll definitely be playing more later, might even start a franchise mode with him. We’ll see! It is so great!
