So, I got curious the other day about Julie Hovland. You know, the author? I couldn’t remember if she was still around. It started off simple enough. I fired up my computer and went straight to the usual suspect – the big search engine. Typed in “Julie Hovland” and hit enter.

First thing I saw were a bunch of pages about her books. Makes sense, right? She’s a writer. But nothing jumped out at me saying she wasn’t with us anymore. Scrolled down a bit, looked at some news articles. Still nothing. Hmm, this was turning into a little more work than I thought.

Next, I figured I’d check out some author websites. Maybe her publisher’s site would have some current info. I clicked through a couple of those, poking around in the “About the Author” sections and their blog posts. Found a few mentions of her, but they were all pretty old, like from a few years back. No good.

Then I thought, “Duh, social media!” Most folks are on there these days. So I went to the major social media platforms and did a search. Found a profile that looked like it might be hers. It had her name, a picture that matched the ones on her book covers. But, get this – the last post was from ages ago. I mean, we’re talking years. I got not much useful information from this social media search.
Checking Reliable Sources
Okay, time to get a little more serious. I went to some of those online encyclopedia-type sites, the ones that are supposed to be all accurate and up-to-date. They had a page on her, but again, no mention of her passing away. They had some biographical stuff, her list of books, but nothing that really answered my question.
News Outlets
My last shot was to see if any major news outlets had anything recent about her. Maybe a special feature or something. I looked at the websites for the big newspapers and some of the online news magazines. Typed her name into their search bars. Nada. Zip. Zilch. Nothing new at all.
Conclusion
So, after all that digging, I still couldn’t say for sure if Julie Hovland is still alive. I couldn’t find any solid evidence saying she’s passed away, but I also couldn’t find anything super recent about her. It’s kind of a mystery! Maybe she’s just taking a break from the public eye, or maybe she’s just not very active online. Who knows? If you have got any clue, please let me know.
