Okay, so I’ve been messing around with this thing called “hammer” for a while now, specifically for building out stuff in Monster Hunter Rise (MHR). Let me tell you, it’s been a journey, a real bumpy ride, but I think I’ve finally got the hang of it. Here’s how it all went down.
Getting Started
First off, I grabbed the latest version of hammer. I just went ahead and got it all set up on my machine. No biggie there, pretty standard stuff.
Figuring Out the Build
Now, the tricky part was figuring out what kind of build I wanted. See, with hammer, you can go a bunch of different ways. You’ve got your raw damage builds, your elemental builds, and then there’s this whole impact crater thing that I didn’t even know about at first. So, I spent a good chunk of time just reading through forums, watching videos, and generally trying to wrap my head around all the options. It was a lot, I won’t lie.
Experiment Time
Once I had a basic idea of what I was going for, it was time to experiment. I started with a simple raw damage build, just focusing on getting those attack numbers up. I crafted some basic hammer, slapped on some decorations that boosted attack, and went out to bash some monsters. It worked okay, but I felt like I could do better.
- Crafting different hammers: I tried out a bunch of different hammers, each with different stats and slots.
- Mixing and matching decorations: This was a pain. I spent hours swapping decorations in and out, trying to find the perfect combination.
- Testing on different monsters: Not all monsters are created equal, you know? What worked great on a Great Izuchi might not work so well on a Rathalos. So, I had to test my builds on a variety of monsters to see what was really effective.
The “Aha!” Moment
After a lot of trial and error, I finally had my “aha!” moment. I realized that focusing solely on raw damage wasn’t the way to go. I needed to balance that out with some other skills, like critical hits and sharpness. So, I started experimenting with builds that incorporated skills like Weakness Exploit and Critical Eye, and I started seeing a real difference. My hunts were going faster, I was breaking monster parts more easily, and I was just having more fun overall.
Fine-Tuning
Even after I found a build that I liked, I kept tweaking it. I’d find a new decoration or a new armor piece that had a skill I wanted, and I’d go back to the drawing board, trying to incorporate it into my build. It was a never-ending process, but it was also kind of addictive. I loved the feeling of constantly improving my build and getting better at the game.
The Final Product
So, after all that, what did I end up with? Well, I’ve got a few different builds now, depending on what I’m hunting and what I’m feeling like playing. But my go-to build is a nice balance of raw damage, critical hits, and sharpness. It’s not the most meta build out there, but it works for me, and that’s what matters. And honestly, I’m still messing around with it, always looking for ways to make it even better. That’s the beauty of these games, right? There’s always something new to discover, something new to try.
Anyway, that’s my story of building with hammer in MHR. It was a lot of work, but it was also a lot of fun. If you’re thinking about picking up the hammer, I say go for it! Just be prepared to put in the time and effort to really learn the weapon and figure out what works best for you. Happy hunting!
