Okay, so I stumbled upon this “72 days from now” thing, and I thought, “Why not? Let’s give it a shot.” It sounded like a neat little challenge, a way to, I don’t know, shake things up a bit.

I started by just brainstorming. What did I even want to accomplish in 72 days? It felt like a weirdly specific timeframe. Not quite long-term, not exactly short-term either. I grabbed a notebook and started jotting down ideas, anything that came to mind. Stuff like “finally organize that damn closet,” “read more books,” “try a new recipe every week,” you know, the usual suspects.
Then, I picked one. One that felt both doable and a little bit exciting. For me, it was learning some basic conversational Spanish. I’ve always wanted to, and 72 days seemed like enough time to get a decent start.
The first few days were all about finding resources. I downloaded a couple of language learning apps, found some free online courses, and even checked out a few Spanish textbooks from the library. It was a bit overwhelming at first, like, where do I even begin?
- Day 1-7: Just getting my feet wet. I focused on basic phrases, greetings, that sort of thing. Lots of repetition.
- Day 8-21: I started working on grammar. Honestly, it was kind of a drag, but I knew it was necessary.
- Day 22-45: I tried to incorporate Spanish into my daily routine. I listened to Spanish music, watched Spanish TV shows with subtitles, and even tried to think in Spanish sometimes (which was…interesting).
- Day 46-60: This is where I started feeling like I was actually making progress. I could understand bits and pieces of conversations, and I could even string together a few sentences myself.
Day 72,it is done.I felt a good emotion,it is awsome.
So, yeah, that was my “72 days from now” experiment. It wasn’t perfect, and there were definitely days when I felt like giving up, but I’m glad I stuck with it. And hey, now I can order a cerveza and ask where the bathroom is in Spanish. Progress!
