Okay, so today I wanted to dig into the 49ers playoff history, and man, it turned out to be a bigger project than I thought! But it was also super interesting.

First, I started by just trying to get a general overview. You know, like, how many times have they even been to the playoffs? So I hit up a search engine, started looking around.
Getting the Basic Info
I quickly found some general stats. I wanted my information to be accurate. Lots of sites have different lists and stuff, so I made sure to check a couple of different sources to make sure things lined up.
Organizing Everything
Then I tried to get the data together. I wanted to know the team the 49ers played against, the year, and the final score.
- Year: Year of the game
- Opponent:Who they played
- Result:Win or Loss, and the score.
I put all of that into my own document. It got pretty long, pretty fast!
Double-Checking and Refining
After I had everything down, I went back and double-checked a few of the games I wasn’t 100% sure about. Some of the older games were a little harder to find consistent info on, but I think I got it all sorted out.

It was cool because I learned some about it. There are certain rivals I knew existed, I knew there were some games that were nailbiters and other years were easier.
It was a fun little project! Took up more time than I expected, but hey, that’s how these things go sometimes, right? Now I’ve got my own little cheat sheet of 49ers playoff history, and that’s pretty neat.
