Okay, guys, so today I want to talk about something I was messing around with – the 2015 Stanford football roster. You know, just digging into some old data for fun.
First off, I started by just googling around to see what I could find. I typed in stuff like “2015 Stanford football roster” and “Stanford Cardinal roster 2015” – you know, the usual. I found a bunch of different websites that had some information, but nothing too organized.
Then, I decided to focus on a few specific sites that seemed to have the most complete data. I noticed some of them had player stats, others just had names and positions. It was kind of a mess, honestly.
So, what did I do? I started copying and pasting, like a madman. I created a simple spreadsheet to keep track of everything. I made columns for the player’s name, position, number, height, weight – all that good stuff.
- Copied names from one site.
- Pasted them into my spreadsheet.
- Found stats on another site.
- Repeated the process until I had a pretty decent list.
It was tedious, I won’t lie. Lots of back and forth, checking to make sure I didn’t miss anyone. Sometimes the information was inconsistent between different sources, so I had to kind of use my best judgment.
The Results
After a while, I finally had a pretty comprehensive roster for the 2015 Stanford football team. It wasn’t perfect, but it was way better than anything I could find online in one place. I was able to see who the key players were, their stats, and all that. Pretty cool, right?
Anyway, that’s my little data adventure for the day. It just goes to show that sometimes you have to get your hands dirty and do the work yourself if you want to get the information you’re looking for. And maybe it will be fun for someone who is as big a fan as I am.
